TUI-NA (ACUPRESSURE)

Tui-na, also known as Acupressure, uses the pressure of the therapist's fingers or tools similar to the shape of the finger.

Pressure is applied to acupuncture points and meridians and places of pain and tension.

Tui-na has relaxing, descontracturating and draining effects. It is applied to relieve functional pain, to relax tense muscles, in case of pain, contractures and stiffness. It is a type of massage that harmonizes the energy of the body, mind and spirit, just like any of the techniques of Traditional Chinese Medicine.

This technique must be practiced by a certified therapist. There are, however, basic techniques that can be taught to the patient so that he can apply them on a daily basis, for self-treatment in simple cases, such as to relieve pain, muscle tension, stress or stimulate the immune system.
