MOXIBUSTION

Moxibustion is a technique in which heat is incurred (in an acupuncture point or in the combination of several points), through a type of "cigar" called Moxa.

Moxa is composed of dried leaves of artemisia vulgaris pressed in the form of cigars of various sizes.

The heat released is pleasant and aims to regulate the function of the point to be treated. Moxa is mostly in the form of cigar and cones. Moxa treatments can sometimes be replaced by the heat from the TDP lamp.

Moxa is widely used in China in “cold illnesses”, as well as in chronic illnesses or weaknesses like depression.
